Citi lands $320m Tanzania deal

Citi Group has signed a deal to back $320 million worth of debt into a Tanzania-based financial services company.

The investor has backed CRDB Bank, investing alongside US-based development financier, Development Finance Corporation (DFC).

Michael Mutiga [pictured] is managing director, and head of corporate finance for sub-Saharan Africa at Citi.

Vibhuti Jain is regional managing director for Africa at DFC.

Headquartered in Dar es Salaam, CRDB Bank provides financial service to retail and corporate clients across Tanzania.
